Acoustical Performance
The above chart shows Sound Transmission Loss and Noise Reduction for each of the STC-rated doors that IAC Acoustics produces. When it comes to acoustical performance, IAC is known for its repeatable and consistent results. All of IAC’s Noise-Lock® Doors are laboratory-tested for performance to ensure all proper reveals, that hinges are properly shimmed and connected, and that the door swings easily. Test reports are available for reference for all STC ratings of Noise-Lock® doors. Finally, IAC guarantees in-field performance of their Noise-Lock® Doors and Windows within 5 STC points of the lab tested performance.

Construction and installation
Typical details of an STC 53 rated Noise-Lock® door are shown below. The door is held closed with dual self-aligning magnetic seals that, in combination with providing an acoustic seal, keep the doors latched without any locking hardware. The 2 ½” door leaf is attached to the frame with cam-lift hinges that lift and lower the door with the swing, eliminating the need for drop seals.
The frame is a two piece split frame system. A male frame fits over the female frame for a quick and clean installation and eliminating the need for in-field grouting.
Customization
IAC delivers a fully factory assembled door unit including leaf, frame, seals, hardware and windows. This assembly ensures proper fit, finish, and function in the field, and also greatly reduces installation man hours.
Every IAC Noise-Lock® Door is fully customized to fit the exact dimensions, sound rating, and design aesthetics for each application. To meet the design needs of a project, IAC’s doors and frames can be powder coated in a standard or any custom color. IAC also offers over 100 species of wood veneer to be applied to the door leaf, and the veneer can be matched to any adjacent woodwork or millwork.

The Noise-Lock® Doors can facilitate a wide array of hardware options to address specific security requirements, ADA compliance, or design preferences. Custom designs, key card entries, and freestanding wifi hardware are all within the realm of hardware that IAC doors can accommodate. To ensure proper fit and function, all hardware that is selected for the doors will be pre-installed and tested in the factory prior to shipment.

Windows / Lites
As shown in the acoustical performance table above, IAC produces STC-rated doors with a full glass window (24” x 66”) while still meeting a rating of up to STC 55. Noise-Lock® Doors can accommodate any size of window (vision, narrow, half glass, or custom), as well integrated side lites to be installed directly beside a Noise-Lock® Door. The windows in IAC doors and side lites are constructed of two (2) panes of ¼” laminated safety glass, joined in an aluminum frame.

When sound control is needed for a door that is over 14 feet in width or height, such as for stage doors, hangers, and automotive testing facilities, IAC has you covered with Super Noise-Lock® Doors. Super Noise-Lock® Doors are available in both STC 51 and STC 55 and can be opened both vertically or horizontally.
